Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at james@flawlesslawnirrigation.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Generally, lawns need about 1 to 1.5 inches of water per week. We recommend watering deeply and infrequently—usually 2 to 3 times per week during early morning hours (4:00 AM to 8:00 AM) to prevent evaporation and fungal growth.

We recommend scheduling a spring startup once freezing temperatures have passed—typically between mid-April and early May, depending on your local climate. During startup, we inspect every head, check for leak damage, and adjust coverage.

Winterization involves using high-volume compressed air to remove all remaining water from your underground pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads before the first freeze. Skipping this step can cause trapped water to freeze, expand, and burst your pipes and backflow assembly.

Low pressure or stuck heads are usually caused by clogged filters, damaged nozzles, cracked lateral lines, or a partially closed main water valve. If cleaning the nozzle doesn't solve it, our repair team can diagnose and fix the root issue quickly.

Yes! We offer the manufacturers warranty on all parts and 1-year labor warranty.

Yes, our Annual Service Agreement covers Spring Startups, Mid-Season Efficiency Adjustments, and Fall Winterization Blowouts at a discounted bundled rate.

We guarantee sprinkler lines against freeze damage only. This warranty does not cover backflows, manifolds, valves, or sprinkler heads, nor does it apply if a main water shut-off valve is faulty or if water is accidentally introduced back into the system.

Watering grass overnight creates ideal conditions for lawn damage because moisture sits on the blades for 8 to 12 hours without sunlight to evaporate it. This prolonged dampness fosters destructive turf fungal diseases, such as brown patch and dollar spot, while keeping the soil waterlogged and starving roots of vital oxygen. Additionally, the continuously wet environment invites unwelcome lawn pests like grubs and armyworms, making early morning the far better time to irrigate.

Brown spots in a yard typically stem from one of four main causes: watering issues, fungal diseases, pest infestations, or physical damage. Environmental factors like drought, heat stress, and compacted soil often cause grass to dry out and turn brown, while over-watering can lead to shallow roots and rot. Fungal infections, such as Brown Patch or Dollar Spot, frequently thrive in warm, humid conditions or from evening watering, leaving circular rings or straw-colored spots on individual blades. Underground pests like grubs destroy roots—making dead patches lift easily like loose carpet—while chinch bugs and armyworms feed directly on grass blades. Finally, physical factors like concentrated nitrogen from pet urine (which leaves a brown center with a dark green border), fertilizer burn, or dull mower blades that fray grass tips can also scorch and discolor your turf.
